McLaren has just released a new super which will be the successor of the McLaren P1 and McLaren F1, the McLaren W1. It uses the same principle that is forged in the F1 and P1 and provides epic power, performance, and pure driver connection.
The car is launched during the 50th anniversary of the McLaren first Formula 1 world championship win. It’s aerodynamic design involves all new purpose-built McLaren Aerocells that are carbon fiber monoqueand active McLaren Long Tail, delivering expectational aerodynamic performance.
The McLaren Aerocell combined with the McLaren Active long tail, which in race mode extends backwards by 300mm, gives the W1 a staggering 1000 kg of downforce. Like the MCL38 Formula 1 car, activating its Race Mode triggers an extreme transformation.
The New McLaren W1 power lies from all new hybrid powertrains that consist of a MHP-8 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, an E-module that is powered by a 1.384kWh battery and an 8-speed dual clutch transmission that has an integrated E-Differential. Both work together to get a ground-breaking performance and produce a total of 1258 horsepower and 988 lb ft of torque. The maximum speed reaches 217 MPH (350 kmh) and achieves 124 mph (200 km/h) from 0 in just 5.8 seconds. With electric drive only, the W1 can drive 1.2miles (2km).
The interior design features a crafted wraparound, providing best-in-class visibility, driver focus, and comfort. The side pods are inspired by McLaren F1 and work perfectly with the exterior shrink-wrapped organic surfaces to guide the airflow around the W1 Aerocell. The doors are anhedral integrated with aerobadea.
The McLaren W1 is designed to balance between beauty and engineering, providing ultimate expression, performance, and driver focus features. It’s overall weight is 911 PS/ton, guaranteeing ultimate driver control and engagement.
