Mclaren F1 GTR [1638×2048]

chassis 27R. One of just 28 F1 GTRs built. only 10 in 1997 longtail specification.

debuted with an emphatic British GT win at Silverstone, becoming the first longtail-bodied F1 GTR to take victory. From there, it went on to contest the FIA GT Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, driven by Stefan Johansson, Gary Ayles, and Chris Goodwin.

Raced by David Morrison’s Parabolica Motorsports and later by AM Racing, 27R stood apart as the only privateer longtail to ever lead an FIA GT race outright. Its period history spans Silverstone, Nürburgring, Spa, Suzuka, and Le Mans, before entering a meticulous post-competition life defined by accuracy, preservation, and provenance.

Restored and converted for road use by Lanzante Limited, retaining its original numbers-matching BMW Type S70/3 V-12, this UK-registered longtail is equally suited to the road or historic motorsport’s most prestigious stages. With extensive spares, a comprehensive history file, and recent Lanzante servicing exceeding £53,000, chassis 27R stands among the most significant McLaren F1 GTRs ever offered.
